Total Hip Replacement for Cats & Small Dogs
We are pleased to announce that we are able to offer the total hip replacement surgery for all patients now regardless of their sizes. With advanced skill level recognized by Kyon, we are now certified to deliver the MINI Total Hip Replacement (THR) surgery for our smaller patients in Malaysia, with implants suitable for patients ranging from 1kg -90kg.
Unlikely our larger patients whom Hip Dysplasia being the main reason requiring this surgery, our smaller patients more often require this surgery when they suffer from hip luxation, femoral head and neck fractures, femoral capital physeal separation (usually due to traumatic events). Although conventionally Femoral Head and Neck ostectomy (FHO) is performed for these cases, studies have shown that even though mobility are restored for these patients, the long term outcome in terms of comfort and functionality are far more superior for cases that received a new hip compared to FHO.
